You will need to complete the following steps and bring all completed forms to the next meeting:
- Youth Protection Training
- Scouting America Adult Application
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- FBI Criminal Background Check (See Below)
YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING
True youth protection can be achieved only through the focused commitment of everyone in Scouting. The first step to becoming a Scouter is to complete the required Youth Protection Training. This training must be completed each year by all registered Leaders and Committee Members.
- Go to https://my.scouting.org/
- Login or Create an Account (you created an account when you registered your Scout)
- Click the logo on the right to take the Safeguarding Youth Training in English or Spanish
- Save a copy of the PDF certificate you receive upon completion and return it to the Pack.

Complete this PDF, including the last page, print it out, and sign it, and bring to the next meeting. Do not submit this yourself or register online.

FBI CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
Have you lived in Pennsylvania for less than 10 years?
If you have lived in Pennsylvania for less than 10 years, you must complete the FBI Criminal Background Check.
The previous FBI fingerprint-based background check vendor, Cogent, will no longer provide the FBI with online fingerprinting services for Pennsylvania state clearance requirements. Volunteers who need to obtain an FBI fingerprint-based background check should begin the process by visiting Idemia’s website and then follow the steps below.

- Click on Locate an Enrollment Center first to find the location for providing your fingerprints that is closest to you, this is a resource to find the closest location to you only. The company is continuing to add new fingerprinting locations.
- Click on Schedule or Manage Appointment.
- Follow the prompts for completing the required information and printing the registration form to take to the fingerprinting location.
Have you lived in Pennsylvania for 10 years or more?
If you have lived in Pennsylvania for 10 years or more, you must complete a Resident Volunteer Verifiction Form (PDF)..
You do not have to complete the FBI Criminal Background Check.
