What is the Blue & Gold?
Blue and Gold celebrations are a tradition in Cub Scout packs. They celebrate the anniversary of the founding of Scouting America on February 8, 1910, and therefore often take place in February.
Our Pack saves our Blue & Gold until May, when it serves as our end-of-year celebration. We recognize our Leaders. We award the Pinewood Derby trophies. We have Mr. Fury blow things up.
We award each Scout new rank badges, which they’ve been working on all year. Lions become Tigers, Tigers become Wolves, Wolves become Bears, Bears become Webelos, and Webelos become Arrows of Light. Their parents remove their old neckerchiefs and replace them with their new neckerchiefs.
It is a fun, moving, bittersweet, and important event. There is a slideshow with photos from our adventures and activities this year. Good food, ice cream, cupcakes, and a special cake that always seems to meet its demise at the hands of Mr. Fury.

It is the culmination and celebrateion of the whole year, and I hope you and your family will join us!
Who is invited?
We would love to celebrate with the whole family — siblings, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles… all are welcome!
How much does it cost?
Last year, we had a multi-tiered pricing system: Cub Scouts were $16 each, their siblings and other youth who are not Scouts were $18, and adults were $20. Children under the age of six were free.
This year, we are proud to be able to reduce and simplify the cost to $15 per adult and $11 per youth.
Should I bring anything?
Yes — a LOT of enthusiasm and cheer! This celebration is fully catered and is managed by our Leaders. All we ask is you show up and you go home with tired hands from all of the clapping.
