On Monday February 26, 2018 Troop 334 hosted its annual Parent’s Night celebration with a few extra special moments. After acknowledging advancements in the ranks, covering some other business and watching the year in review video, we applauded David Craighead for 20 years of Scoutmaster leadership https://scouting334.org/scout-spotlight-scoutmaster-milestone/ It was then time to invite our special guests to center stage. First Scoutmaster David invited Troop 3 Committee Chair Harry Heckler forward to accept the Troop 334 Scout of the Year Award. The award is presented in recognition of his (and his troops) scouting character and spirit. They represented the true scouting values and spirits Troop 334 has been promoting in our community since 1943 when they offered to return home some of Troop 334’s history without hesitation. Heather and Brian Sheridan (Parent’s of Troop 334 Eagle Scout #52 Avery) came forward to tell how they started the adventure in bringing history home to Troop 334. (check out the story of the treasure here https://scouting334.org/scout-in-the-spotlight-2/) Finally, Scoutmaster Bill Delmar, Committee Chair Harry Heckler and SPL Damian Rodriquez from Troop 3 Ambler came forward to present the historical treasure back home. There was a formal unveiling of a uniform shirt, an old photo and actual scouting documents of Edward Ketterer, Troop 334’s First Eagle Scout. In a unique and fated turn of events, from a photo at one Eagle Court of Honor to a homecoming, two troops were able to come together to celebrate the history of Scouting and new found friends.                                                        Â
